In honor of Mother's Day, we're fundraising for Moms Demand Action

May 12, 2019

Mother’s Day, like every day, is a time to tell the important people in your lives what they mean to you. For my family, that’s my wife and partner, Kaira. Her intelligence, strength, caring nature, and humor hold our family together.

But saying something isn’t enough. That’s too easy.

Let’s do something.

This Mother’s Day, I want to celebrate the parents behind the movement to end gun violence at Moms Demand Action. And to inspire you to join their movement.

My family is whole today. That’s a tremendous relief. But, for too many families out there, Mother’s Day is a reminder of the unthinkable grief they’ve had to endure, the losses their families have suffered thanks to our country’s epidemic of unchecked gun violence.

America has become a place where getting an education, practicing your religion, or simply running an errand puts you and your family in the line of fire. But we can fix this. And we owe to all of us to take action and try.

We’re at a watershed moment in our country’s history. Americans are banding together against the divisive agenda put forward by the NRA and their allies in Congress. It is my firm commitment to take on the NRA, and anyone else who stands in the way of sensible gun reform. We can end this suffering.

On this Mother’s Day, I urge you to get involved with Moms Demand Action and join the crusade against gun violence in America.

I’m in. And I’d like you with us.
