Two important updates from DC

Team Rouda has hit the ground running in week two of New Member Orientation. The latest? Two major commitments to a safer, healthier future.

Our community made it clear throughout the campaign: one of the top priorities for Congress must be addressing climate change. Our environment impacts everything from public health to the economy.

During my campaign, I was endorsed by environmental organizations like the Sierra Club, the League of Conservation Voters, and the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition PAC.

My commitment to addressing climate change continues in Congress. I am honored to have joined the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition.

Throughout the campaign, we discussed the urgency of gun reform.

The Gun Violence Prevention Task Force Chair, Congressman Thompson, took notice: "[Harley's] dogged pursuit of sensible legislation will help us affect real change that will keep our schools, streets, and communities safe from gun violence."

I am honored to join the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. Together, we will advocate and implement solutions to our nation's epidemic of gun violence.

On day one, I am ready to work with my fellow members of Congress – Democrat and Republican alike – to find common sense solutions to help stop gun violence.

We're doing it, team.
