"I knew it was time to stop tweeting and take action."

Since November 7th, 2016 — we've all been stepping out of our comfort zones and stepping up: from lifelong Republicans voting Democrat, to folks like Erika Abdelatif.

Erika came out to canvass with our team last week. She wrote about her initial anxiety and her motivation on Bustle:

"I was completely terrified. I imagined people slamming the door in my face, or getting in fights with angry men wearing MAGA hats. But, in all honesty, it wasn't scary at all. Actually, it was — dare I say — really fun...

Even though my phone was blowing up with push notifications about Brett Kavanaugh's official confirmation, for the first time since 2016 I actually felt hopeful and energized. As soon as I got home, I signed up to volunteer for more shifts."

To Erika, and everyone volunteering with my campaign and the hundreds of progressive campaigns across the country: thank you.

Thank you for showing up, especially when it's hard.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, especially when you're feeling vulnerable.

Thank you for working the next 25 days like it's November 7, 2016, or January 20, 2017 — because we're about to have an unbelievable November 6, 2018.

All thanks to you.
